Bikram induced my life!

Dred- where were you — been missing your posts-  it’s been an addiction!!!

Here you are:::::: Dred Scott

i’ve been doing yoga for about a year now off and on. and it’s great.
the perfect thing for the over 40 need to fight gravity. and like
swimming, my other exercise of choice you don’t have to sweat. enter
the bikrum. where the point is sweating. and you do yoga, too.
for those of you uninitiated, bikrum is yoga done in a 110 degree
room. sort of like doing yoga outside in vegas. without the fruity
umbrella drinks or the hookers.

i made it through the first 45 minutes or so and then my meter ran
out. nothing. zip.
zilch. nada. i had nothing left and the class was only half over.
the instructor noticed and
suggested i just focus on staying in the room. so i corpse posed for
the rest of the time occasionally dropping in to try this pose or that
pose. i thought i was going to puke a few times (don’t do bong hits
before you try the bikrum) but with the stern encouragement of the
instructor i made it to the end. i felt quite proud of myself until
the instructor asked me after how i liked my first class and i found i
could form words but could not put them into sentences. after a few
tries i managed a wan smile and gave her the thumbs up.

that was yesterday. fortunately i was able to move my fingers again
by this morning but i haven’t been able to concentrate long enough to
finish the (turns out pretty boring) dispatch about my little road
trip with my mother. better luck next week.
