2008 is almost over! And Miz Metro Mondayz is a whole year old! So to celebrate 2008 and my weekly fly blog- I thought I’d do a little review of my favorite posts from 2008, so study up- and stay fresh!

My Favorite book of 2008: Narcisa “Our Lady of Ashes” By Jonathan Shaw
This book is crack, literally-must read to understand. For anyone who is slightly disturbed or really bored and wants to spice up their banal existence- this is a book for you.

Most Innovative: M.I.A (and way to creep up the charts)
M.I.A designed a crazy set and this dress for a show she did at MOMA, she posted some pictures on her myspace and said “MOMA, This is what the blogs should show you” so I did.

Best Mixtape: “A-NY Minute” Hip Hop HOWL!
This was by far one of the one scene uniting Mixtapes out in ’08- and I’m not just being partial because I co-presented and helped hand pick the artists….but seriously I mean the line up on this mixtape is CRAZY! Best Live Show: The Beatards live @ Rehab
These boys know how to put on one hell of a live show, and there was something special in the air the night I saw them at Rehab this summer, because they were on fire. Entertaining as all hell- and tight as can be. Moving through dance moves, DJ O on the bass- and serious stage crafting by the lead M.C’s, taking a break from throwing Mixtape Riot every month did these boys some good-they really took their live show to the next level. Hottest Radio Show: Circa *95 hosted by Pattydukes & Rephstar on Urban Latino Radio
Crosby and I had the pleasure of being two of the first guests on Pattdukes and Rephstar’s Radio show “Circa *95″ SOOOOOO much fun! DOPE DOPE DOPE rare mixtapes from the 90′s and bullshit talking all things 90′s no better way I’d like to spend my Sunday afternoon. Favorite Artist of 2008: Florence and the Machine!
It’s official, this girl is amazing. I’ve been ranting and raving about her for over a year, in which time she’s signed a major deal, toured with MGMT, opened for Chuck Berry and just got nominated for a Brit Award ( which is just the tip of the iceburg) Check her out if you haven’t yet, don’t live under a rock. she’s the real thing.

Most Eccentricly Talented M.C/Clockmaker/Designer/Blogger CROSBY, aka CROSMOPOLITAN, aka CLOCKWORK CROS
Crosby has been featured on Miz Metro Mondayz various times, for his various amazing talents. His surrealist clocks, ibook made videos ( which are so dope its scary), clothing company, various shows, Hip Hop HOWL! (co-presenter) and most recently for his video which he is a featured M.C in “Get Loose”, that has been getting heavy rotation on all the biggest hip hop blogs. Watch out for the lowest Mayor of the Lower East Side, born and raised-he’s no joke.

Final words on 2008:
- I’m so over the auto-tone voice encoder, every rapper wants to be a singer PLEASE! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! It hurts my ears!
- Obama is president, wow.
- The 10 Freshman got a lot of hype to live up to- but I have no doubt that Mickey Facts is going to knock it out the park, he is polished, focused and ready to rock-expect big big things from this dude in 2009
- Britney it’s not your fault your so wacked, we love you anyways.
- Lykke Lee- I love you, a little bit…
- Santogold was undeniably one of the hottest things to happen to the year 2008, so proud and happy for you Santi- your the best.
- I’m delirious it’s 5:25am, my last words must end now.
