Oh- I can’t say enough amazing things about this talented sister Monica Blaire. Detroit homegrown….She’s a powerful voice in the Soul world but flips the script with her energy and skills to MC’ing/Hip Hop and Ragga style. Through the roof! She’s fire! She’s done tons of collaborations including Carl Craig, PPP, Wajeed, Bizarre and others.

I first saw Monica Blaire at Urban Organic Festival in Detroit during the Soultracks weekend in 2007! Drake Phifer books this wonderful weekend festival. He hipped me to Monica through his programming that night in which Roy Ayers was the headline. Obviously Mr. Ayers took a liking and blown away by Monica’s talents too after rocking the stage at the finale. He loved her so much that he asked her to join him on a mini tour including The Atlanta Experience. Monica killed it and folks from Atlanta have been blowing up my inbox and facebook telling me NY is going love her!!! Well- I already knew that….

So – Get Ready!!!! Monica Blaire- January 23rd. Friday late night! Also on the bill- very talented Kameron Corvet and all the way from Holland is Postman. This is going to be a hot show- a not to be missed and it’s hosted by the lovely and talented Maya Azucena.
