HOLA! What a non-stop intense week! SXSW was AMAZING! The Hip Hop Howl Showcase was a huge success! Thank you to all the performers who rocked, and everyone who came out to support-and to our sponsors IMEEM, FUSICIOLOGY, THE BLOOM EFFECT and to all the blogs that showed us love and helped promote the event. Big ups to Melo-X for doing an amazing job mixing the HHH mixtape-exlusive download partnership for the SXSW HHH Mixtape TBA very soon!  This Recap part 1 is going to focus on the general madness, next weeks Recap part 2 will focus on the HIP HOP HOWL showcase, photos and video clips- we’re still in the process of uploading and sorting everything- so check back in next Monday for that! Here’s a little clip of RAYE 6 tearing it up to hold you over till next week:

Where to begin! The show on Monday with Yarah Bravo and Eyeris @ Red 7 was a dream come true. This was my first show with Yarah Bravo, I’ve looked up to her for years, she is one of the most amazingly talented, open, beautiful performers I’ve ever met- and I look forward to doing many many more shows with her in the near future! The show was off the hook, crazy break dancing- wonderful people and a really dope venue.

On Thursday I accompanied M.C EYERIS  for her official SXSW Showcase @Back Alley Social Club- she got up on the bar for one of the songs, and we were freestyling hard- it was quite a memory. Love this girl so much, and am very happy that she is moving back to NYC from Austin! Keep a look out for Eyeris!

Later that night after getting lost-in Austin for over an hour via car with Cathleen and Crosby, The Beatards hooked it up proper, and I got to catch up with Lady Sov backstage for a while. I got the name “Miz Metro” from Sov 2 yrs ago after interviewing her at WMC, was nice to catch up- we talked about where the industry is going, and how she’s liking running her own label (which she loves). photo’s of Lady Sov and I by Felicia Cruz

The Levi’s Fader Fort was definitely where most of the action was going down all week. I got interviewed live on East Village Radio.com by DJ Small Change, who I love- been listening to him at the Rubillad parties in BK for years, cool dude.

My dudes from Hit and Run hooked up a dope t-shirt for me, the Fader fort was like a little play land of wonder. I had a great time.

The Hip Hop Howl showcase was so massive, check back next week for full recap along with other highlights, I’m still digesting everything. I know I’m leaving so much out- Janelle Monae was beyond captivating- my favorite SXSW performer along with Yarah Bravo. I must say The Beatards had the highest energy out of any act I saw at SXSW, these boys have been doing there thang. Seeing Kid Cudi at the I heart Comixs Mad Decent party brought back lots of memories of my Urban Gypsy Circus loft parties, which are going to be making a come back starting this summer. I had such an amazing time this week, I’m so delirious I haven’t slept yet! I’m leaving out all the legends I met, and crazy interviews I did- photos of all that next week!

Got off the plane today, no sleep the night before- went straight to class- took a “nap” woke up 5 hours later, and have been working on this here blog since- sorry your getting Miz Metro Mondayz on Tuesday- but it’s been NON STOP! THANKS FOR READING!!
