Meaning- Middle East- yes it’s there too- tons of it!
I had a chance to discover and taste plenty while chilling in Israel last month. In fact- big things are in the works- in talks about bringing this whole style/urban culture to NY for the first time under one roof- so you’ll be exposed to a full course meal with lots of deserts! So stay tuned- this is being planned for Summer 2010!!!
Talking about Middle Eastern Hip Hop- Coolooloosh. Yes let’s talk about these guys called Coolooloosh. 6 guys from Israel embarked on a tour to N.America and they’ve been working, grooving, performing, collaborating and seriously networking non-stop while over here. They are really committed to making it in the U.S and they realize how much effort and hard work it’s going to take! They are ready!!
I’ve been spending loads of time with them and getting to know all the members very well! Hope they’re not getting sick of me:_)
The sound is groovy, funky, jazzy, soulful with elements of everything- ‘Elements of Sound’ - their debut album produced by David Ivory….The legendary soul singer Bunny Sigler is also featured on the album.
Live Hip Hop- live instruments/live MC– Rebel Sun is the MC- his vocal approach is sultry smooth and low with some incredible vibes! Feel good that’s what it is- and party on the beach! There’s a few angst hard in your face tracks too – overall some flavor for everyone!

Then they’re off to San Francisco for a gig at Cow Palace- August 2nd and then it’s bye bye back to Israel! But…We’ll see them in the Fall and rocking our CMJ International Hip Hop showcase- Wednesday, October 21st!
Great write-up. I met these guys in London and have been trying to get them up to Boston ever since. The have such a great vibe and appeal to people across the spectrum. I can’t wait til Monday night at Hard Rock…I’m bringing all my friends!
