Post CMJ Maddness, The #140 Conference, Gallery 151 teams up with Fighting For Futures, Erin Barra “A Good Man” Free Download & More!

What a week! CMJ kicked my ass ( in a good way)! So many bands to see, amazing parties, panels & and non-stop MADNESS! My CMJ week started on Wednesday at 5pm for the #140 Conference Meet Up, where I spoke about how important Twitter is to a musical artist today. Below a photo of me Tweeting with ppl who were responding to my talk in real time on Twitter

For everyone in LA this week be sure to attend the #140 Conference on Tuesday which is going to be massive! 140ConfLA

“At #140conf I hope for people to discover the systemic change that the worldwide adoption of twitter is having to society.” Jeff Pulver

Next stop was DROM for my official CMJ showcase w/Terry Poison,  in spite of technical difficulties (DROM’s speakers blew out the night before and the show almost got cancelled) the show went very well! Terry Poison is AMAZING! Their live performance was so tight, and they were very entertaining. They definitely were one of the biggest buzz bands coming out of CMJ! It was great to perform along side them! My DJ Vinyl Richie, Sean Lewis and I did our thang- stage one of the “UNLIMITED LIVE REMIX RIDE”!

Below is a photo with Asya from Fusicology and her colleague, who stopped by Gallery 151 on Saturday night to catch my secret showcase CMJ pre-game mixer! Everyone who trekked out in the rain had a blast! Free wine, hoola hooping, and ppl trying on costumes from the Halloween Bazaar= one of my favorite memories of CMJ!

My favorite performances of CMJ were by Terry Poison and The Beatards-both acts had the highest energy, most together sound and look and got the audiences dancing like crazy! I got to talk on a Fashion Panel as well, which was great. The theme of our talk was BE YOURSELF! I was quoted on the CMJ homepage for saying “Don’t project an image you can’t keep up with” It’s true!

The next show opening up at Gallery 151 is called Silent Spring, curated by Parsons The New School Fine Arts Department November 4th-25th. %50 of all profits generated from Silent Spring will be donated to Fighting For Futures, which is an amazing non-4-profit that uses creative means to help empower under privileged youth around the world. I will be traveling to Cambodia in January to help document Fighting For Future’s photo therapy classes, developing the photos into an art show through Gallery 151 in the Spring.
