WELCOME BACK BLOOM BLOG!!
I sure did miss my weekly Sundays here on the Bloom Blog, There is so much to tell, I’m not really sure where to begin.
Sid and I have been in Cambodia 3 days shy of 1 month. Today, we found our new apartment, complete with kitchen, balcony, hot water & refrigerator. We move in tomorrow, 2.1.2010. I can’t wait to go to the market and buy all FRESH FOOD for pennies on the dollar. No preservatives, no additives, 100% organic without the prices…awww CAMBODIA!!
This week we have to make a border run, in order to get our business visas, that are renewable, instead of our current tourist visas which are NOT renewable. We will leave to the Thai island of Koh Chang on Friday. The 12 hour trip will act as a weekend getaway and we will get back just in time to continue our mission on Monday.
We have been working with Tiny Toones, an NGO founded by deportee KK. They focus on teaching children breakdancing, English, Khmer, HIV prevention all in the hopes of keeping children off the streets and drug free. Peanut, the studio manager, has been our go-to-guy, and we currently have 2 projects in the works. Our new song “moto-dope” should be finished this month and ready for release. Below you will find a video preview of the track.
Fighting for Futures has been implementing the photo therapy program in the Boeung Kak lake side area with Chanty and her friends. They have quickly adapted to using the cameras and eagerly snap away. We are currently working on bringing the photo therapy classes to other organizations, including Krang Themy village school and Tiny Toones. Below are some of the pics I have taken of the kids during class.
We have been doing so much since we have been here. But ill save some of it for next week. I even have a million things to tell you about from before we left NYC. I’ll leave you with 3 short videos of some of the music and projects we completed.
