I’m back! Even though for a short time, I finally arrived back in Tel Aviv after a few weeks traveling Southeast Asia. Its an amazing area of the world. Lots of climbing, hiking, cliff jumping…and best of all, avoiding computers.
I arrived back in Israel for one of the biggest, most fun holidays of the year, Purim. For those who aren’t familiar with the Jewish holiday, or they debaucherous way Israelis celebrate it, I’ll explain. Purim is the Israeli version of Halloween, in that everyone gets dressed up in costume. Although there is no trick or treating, emphasis on scary characters, or pumpkins, there is an abundance of alcohol and religious traditions of getting obscenely drunk to retell the traditional story, as well as delicious triangular shaped cookies. Check out CNN’s Time Magazine’s coverage of the holiday in Tel Aviv HERE.
Many of Tel Aviv’s musicians threw massive parties to celebrate. We had an all out Purim Hip Hop party on the holiday night itself (in addition to the madness that ensued from street parties). The event featured performances by Ortega, Cohen@Mushon, Ori Shochat, and many others. Below are some highlights from the soiree:

Also, in 9 days the Onili crew goes on tour in the US, myself included!!!! I cannot wait to liveblog it for all of you. In addition, DJ Ori Shochat will be joining us on this tour to play some gigs. To say I’m excited is an understatement.
The schedule of the tour so far is as follows:
March 17 – Austin, TX (SXSW), March 23 – Philly, PA (Silk City), March 24 & 25 – NYC (Best Buy, Nublu)
More dates, however, are subject to be added. For more details, ticket information, etc, click HERE!
Recently, Onili put out a new video for her hit song, Sentimental. This version, edited entirely by Onili herself and Tel Aviv skateboarding star, Boaz Aquino, features some soundbytes from Barak Obama. Check it out below!
That’s all for now until the city starts to settle and the hangover fades on this holiday. See you next week for more JUICE.
