Akoya Afrobeat is one of the most authentic afrobeat bands in North America. Led by Egypt 80 vet Kaleta, and boasting a 13 head deep lineup of musicians known across the Brooklyn scene. Special Guest: Kevin Mambo, co-star of FELA!, will be dropping in to join Akoya onstage throughout the night. They’re joined by new-comers to the Brooklyn afro-scene, Ikebe Shakedown. On the decks: DJ Afro-Marc - best known for his widely respected blog (The Afrobeat Blog) and his podcast (The Afro-Marc Podcast). He’ll be spinning afro-grooves all night.
