Juicers I’m back! After what seems like a really long time. I apologize for my absence but a lot has occurred both politically and personally that have really effected what I wanted to write in the Juice.
Anyone who hasn’t been living under a rock knows what has occurred in Israel in the last month with the Flotilla incident. While this is not a blog to speak politically, I really wasn’t sure how to continue on writing when I was struggling with something that was so strongly affecting the country I live in.
This year Israel was blessed with having many huge musical acts come to perform. Metallica, Depeche Mode, Madonna and many others. However, the recent boycotting of Israel has caused many musical acts I once respected to drop out at the last minute. I recently went to see Placebo play and half the opening acts dropped. Even the Pixies canceled their Israel stop at the last minute!
But we will overcome! The music industry is bolstering.
I’m really into this new band here in Tel Aviv called Tiger Love. They are completely hipster, but really fun to dance to. My main jams are usually more to the hip hop and soul, but this has me dancing. Three dudes from Tel Aviv and they wear the tight jeans well. Check out their music video for “Under Control” below:
I’m very excited as Cohen has just informed me yesterday that their album is set to be released this October! Mixing is almost done and I can’t wait to premiere it for you. Other albums that are also about to be released are Shimmy Sonic’s EP and Sabbo/Kutiman’s album they made in Jamaica!

Shimmy Sonic’s EP will be called “Funktronix”. It will finally debut on July 10th!
Israeli hip hop group, HaDag Nachash’s new track, “Ani Mamin”, or “I believe” was recently released. Really cool track with funk and hip hop sounds. Check it out here:
Soulico recently did a remix to another HaDag Nachash track,”Shir Nehama”. Its a really interesting remix, with a lot of Middle Eastern beats, perfect to feel like you are actually in Israel when listening. Check it out below:
Also, even better, the guys over at HaChibur, Ori Shochat and DJ Alarm are going to be releasing their “Vibetown Mixtape” very soon on their website. Check out a preview for it below:
Things in Tel Aviv this summer are going to be HOT. Missy Elliott is coming (if she doesn’t cancel…) July 15th! And while a lot of people are coming to visit Israel on tour, a lot of Israelis are touring! Right now Borgore is touring the world and Boom Pam is performing in Portugal and preparing for a brief summer US tour.
Next week I’ll debut The Secret Project’s (Onili’s side gig) new video! I got a preview of it today, its amazing.
