Dawoud started playing guitar when he was 10, and sitar when he was 18. Since then, he has performed in the US and Europe, recorded as a leader and session musician, produced recordings, composed and produced music for film, theater, and dance, had radio airplay in the US, Europe, Russia, and Indonesia, and has experience as a teacher, writer, poet, and audio engineer.
