This weekend Spills vs feleciacruz joined Klap ya Handz, Tiny Toones and Nokia in Siem Reap for The Nokia Hip Hop Dance Championship 2010. The two day event landed us on stage in the center of town outside the Lucky Mall on a huge stage rockin to 100’s of locals. What more could we ask for. Next week there will be exclusive video of our 2 day affair.
THIS THURSDAY feleciacruz EFFICACY DROPPED, a follow up to LEAVING: a feleciacruz video diary. Here are both for your enjoyment.

I’m at WAR with internet right now, hence my late blog (actually Monday morning as I type) I must close quickly as we have a bus to catch and a free breakfast we cant miss.
Sidebar: I have a SXSW bound artist I’d like you to checkout, hailing from PA and Repping NYC meet PREMONITION

hi everybody!!
we’re back with another installment of “Just A Girl..in this Digital World”! this week we’re talking with a sista that not only uses technology to promote but also embraces technology out of necessity. being an independent filmmaker and documentarian, as well as co-owner of a media company, she is always on the prowl for the newest tool that will help make her job that much easier while maintaining quality. we are talking about Cynical Smith of Bucktown USA.

she streams her radio show “Linden Sundays” on Beatminerz Radio live via ustream.com and, Bucktown USA, which she co-owns, is celebrating the release of General Steele’s “Amerikkka’s Nightmare Part II: Children of War” with the companion documentary “We The People”. this is a woman that has embraced technology.
although a sista is busy, she sat for a second and answered some questions for “Just A Girl…”::
me: Bucktown USA has a .ning, do you find that it is helping you to grow your brand?
Cynical Smith: No I think it’s the opposite Bucktown USA is helping the Ning Brand to grow. What Ning offers is a great platform which otherwise would be very costly to design from scratch, but ultimately it depends on you to make your brand grow by marketing your site.
me: what is your favorite site for artists’ promotion?
Cynical Smith: Hmm… I can’t name one that is ideal, I like certain features from a bunch of different sites.
me: as an independent film director, what is your personal favorite site, whether for editing or post production?
Cynical Smith: Celtx is a free downable pre-production software. For $5.00 a month you can create an online studio with up to five users.
me: how much time do you usually spend online?
Cynical Smith: Too much, but not enough! I host an internet radio show twice a week plus I produce an online talk show so I spend a lot of time researching, building an online community, as well as marketing my Brand.

me: what do you see as the evolution of technology for filmmakers?
Cynical Smith: There are limitless distribution possibilities with the integration of TV and the Internet.
no doubt! everyday there’s new software coming out and computers get upgraded making the possibilities endless. so make sure you pay attention to what’s in the future for Cynical Smith and Bucktown USA! I’ll be back next week to introduce you to another sista making the tools of technology work for her!
laters!

We are very much at work here preparing for the tour ahead, so this is going to be a relatively short Juice this week. I promise to keep you up to date by liveblogging the tour as well as introduce you to some amazing new Israeli music acts upon our return to the Holy Land.
For now, let me just share how excited we all are to be going! Onili, along with DJ Shochat will be touring Miami, Austin, New York, and my homespot, Philly! All the gigs are going to be equally amazing, but of course since I’m from Philly…I’m most excited about this.
The gig in Philly is at my favorite spot, Silk City, with an amazing lineup! Performing along with Onili and Shochat are Plastic Little’s DJ Siyoung and Pfunkt.
SXSW has a HUGE Israeli representation this year! Along with Onili and Shochat, we will also be represented by Boom Pam, Soulico, DJ Mesh and Fiona Bloom favorite: Terry Poison!
check out the video from MixRevolution TV of Soulico at SXSW 2007

Another amazing Israeli act to see while in Austin is Boom Pam. Feel like bellydancing a bit? Check them out below:
